AUGS Meeting 2026 – Retro Feeling Lives On
Published on 15.05.2026 by Alisha

On the weekend from Saturday, March 14, to Sunday, March 15, 2026, it was once again time for the annual AUGS meeting: The AUGS (Amiga User Group Switzerland) gathered at the GZ Hottingen, a location already well known from previous events. Despite the familiar surroundings, it once again became clear that, due to the continuous growth of the community, we will eventually need to look for a larger venue in the future.

The enthusiasm and passion surrounding the Commodore Amiga remain unbroken, even 41 years after the release of the legendary Commodore Amiga 1000. This year’s meeting once again proved exactly that.

As always, there was plenty of repairing, testing, tinkering, and technical discussion going on: Some Amigas were brought back to life, others worked on improving their existing setups, while many exchanged valuable information and experiences. Not only classic systems from the late 1980s and early 1990s were present, but also modern FPGA-based systems and emulator solutions found their way to the AUGS meeting.

Just like every year, we were also happy to welcome several spontaneous visitors who had not registered in advance but still decided to stop by. Especially enjoyable were the many intensive and exciting conversations between AUGS members and our guests. Memories were shared, technical topics discussed, and experiences around the Amiga exchanged. These personal encounters are exactly what makes the special spirit of AUGS.

Of course, the fun factor could not be missing either: The gaming area once again became one of the major highlights of the event. Many of us became children again while playing the classic games of our youth together. Whether legendary jump’n’runs, iconic shoot’em-ups, or classic multiplayer games – the Amiga once again proved that retro gaming still inspires and creates unforgettable moments today.

It was also wonderful to see the continued interest from visitors. Many were amazed that the computers they once owned during their youth are still actively used, expanded, and maintained today – even in 2026. The Amiga lives on – together with a passionate community that continues to connect generations.

As every year, many impressions from the event were captured in our gallery. In addition, there is once again a “Time Capsule” video by Alen, allowing you to relive the meeting in a time-lapse format and experience the atmosphere of the two days once again.
